The 2020 edition of the PFP Forum goes online, hosted by MEP Norbert LINS (EPP), Chair of Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development at the European Parliament
The European Parliament has declared a climate emergency, likely asking the European Commission to step up cutting emissions by 2030 to become climate neutral by 2050.
The awareness and knowledge on the potential impacts of climate change on the PFP supply chains – particularly on arable farming but also animal production chains – needs to be improved to allow for sufficient adaptation by primary food processors.
For this year’s online PFP Forum, we have therefore invited both stakeholders and experts to present their views on the environmental challenges ahead for this vital link in the food chain. As well as our host, Norbert Lins MEP, we will hear presentations from Tomas Wyns, project researcher on low carbon innovation and industrial policy at the Free University of Brussels and co-author of the report on decarbonising industry for the EU High Level Group on energy efficient industries, Rauli-Jan Albert, from the Confederation of Finnish Cooperatives, permanent representation in Brussels and Christophe Rupp-Dahlem, PFP president. The presentations will be followed by, what promises to be a lively debate moderated by Gerardo Fortuna, Agrifood editor for Euractiv.
We hope you can join us for this timely discussion. To participate in this webinar, register below
